At IFA 2026 Segway announced the Navimow H5 Pro, a robot mower that finds its way with LiDAR, onboard NRTK satellite positioning and three vision cameras. Like other mowers shown in Berlin, it aims to cut grass right up to buildings and pavements.
An arm for the lawn edge
For edging, the H5 Pro uses an extendable EdgeMaestro arm that, according to Segway, pushes the cutting disc up to 7.7 cm beyond the body. Gizmodo described the mechanism as a side trapdoor the disc slides out of, which does not match the manufacturer's description. A Segway representative told the author that string trimmers are noisy and less efficient than the disc's blades, and that the disc gives a more even cut. That is the manufacturer's view, not an independent test.
The drivetrain, according to the article, carries over from the X4 series: all-wheel drive, four independently driven wheels and Xero-Turn front wheels that steer independently, so the mower can pivot on its rear wheels. Slopes of up to 80 percent and 6 cm obstacles are quoted. The author adds that on his own lawn the X4 felt gentler than the Dreame A3 AWD Pro, whose omnidirectional front wheels left bald patches.
Navigation relies on three cameras plus an infrared sensor that, Segway says, can spot small animals even at night. Onboard NRTK means no RTK antenna is needed in the middle of the lawn. No price has been announced, and US buyers cannot expect a release date because of the FCC's ban on foreign-made robotic devices. The article says nothing about European pricing or availability.
